India vs West Indies T20: Twitter hail Rahul as West Indies defeat India in a thriller 1

The much awaited T20 International between India and West Indies finally took place in Florida and one can say that the match lived up to its expectations.
India skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first. However, the West Indies opener proved his decision wrong and thrashed the Indian bowlers all over the park. The duo added 126 runs in only 57 balls for the first wicket to lay the foundation of a huge score. Johnson Charles was the first wicket to fell after scoring 79 off only 33 balls. His opening partner Evin Lewis, who was playing his first match, continued the fireworks and scored his maiden ton off only 48 balls. Useful contribution from other batsmen helped West Indies to post a mammoth total of 245 runs.

Chasing the huge target, India fired on all cylinders but lost Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli cheaply. But a 89 runs partnership between Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul steadied the ship. Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 62 runs off only 28 balls to keep India in the match. KL Rahul, who impressed on the Zimbabwe and West Indies tour, continued his fine form and played one of the best innings of his career to take India close. The right handed batsman scored his maiden T20 ton off only 46 balls. Rahul scored 110 but his efforts were not enough as India lost the match by 1 run.
