The members of Indian cricket team will be leaving for World Cup 2019 on May 22, 10 days after the IPL 2019 final, a report in Mumbai Mirror suggests.

Although a final decision will be taken after the meeting of COA on Monday.

There has been a lot of talk about the players managing their workload during IPL and 10 days rest between IPL final and team India’s first World Cup game (on June 6) will give enough time to players to take rest.

Also, all the World Cup-bound players will not be playing in the first week of May.

The journey of four teams will end right in the first week of May, which will mean an extra rest for the Indian players in that squad.

The India-Pakistan match is scheduled to take place on June 16 but its fate is yet to be decided.

Men in Blue will later face Afghanistan and West Indies in next two games before taking on England, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

In 2015, India performed well and remained unbeaten in the group stage but lost the semi-final to ultimate champions, Australia.

MS Dhoni was the captain of team India in 2015.

IPL 2019 kicks off on March 23 and the first month of the tournament will serve as selection criteria to the selectors for many players.
