Sourav Ganguly
Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly is considered to be one of the most valiant and brave Indian cricketers ever. He is one of the reasons behind team India’s transformation and their uprise in world cricket in the last two decades. It was under Dada’s captaincy that team Indian started winning games outside the subcontinent and a new culture of backing young players in the team.
Sourav Ganguly is a perfect example of a captain leading from the front. He was married to Dona Roy, his childhood friend and also a very close neighbour.
Sourav and Dona were childhood sweethearts and neighbours. It is said the two families had good relations earlier but the friendship didn’t last, so much so that they were reportedly not even on talking terms. However, that didn’t stop Sourav and Dona’s love from blossoming.
The lovebirds finally got married according to all traditional rituals, with the blessings of their respective families, on 21 February 1997. In November 2001, Sourav and Dona were blessed with a baby girl, and they named their daughter Sana.
