A handful of sports stars will come together to help raise funds for the underprivileged children fighting a severe disease like cancer on November 18 at the Calcutta Cricket & Football (CC&FC) ground.

The event will see current India skipper Virat Kohli and former India great Sunil Gavaskar raise funds for these ailing patients. Bishan Singh Bedi, Ravi Shastri, Sourav Ganguly, Jhulan Goswami, Mithali Raj, Leander Paes, and Krishnamachari Srikkanth are some of the other delegates who are expected to grace this event. The proceeds from this program which is titled as ‘Legends for Hope’ will be handed over to Tata Medical Centre who is doing a noble cause of treating underprivileged children’s battling with cancer.

The event which will mark CC&FC’s 225 celebrated years of cricket will see yesteryear’s former cricketer CD Gopinath and Madhav Apte, who represented India in the 1950’s will grace the event with their presence. The show will be a treat for the audience the as the legends from their fields will share their personal stories and tales that changed their lives. The guests will also encourage the audience to come forward for this cause and donate according to their capability.

Former India cricketer Arun Lal, who is also the current President of CC&FC said:
“It’s a matter of pride for us as we cherish the 225 years of our club’s glorious past. Being a cancer survivor myself, I cannot thank Tata Medical Center enough for all the efforts they make towards providing care and treatment for cancer patients. At a personal level, it is a privilege for me to be a part of this awareness drive.”
The event will also witness musical performances from the Shillong Choir and Humsufi band. Shantanu Moitro a renowned music personality, who is well-known for blending traditional with the classical music perfectly, will give an exclusive musical score for Tata Medical Centre.
