Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who has now joined hands with a political party – BJP, was once a crucial opener in the Indian team. He played significant innings in India’s 2011 World Cup victory.

As a 19-year old, he could not get the place in his age group competition. But he worked the way up to get the place at the top.

Taking about his credentials, he has scored 5238 runs in 147 games at an average of 39.68. The 38-year-old scored 4154 runs at an average of 41.96 in 58 Test matches. Whereas, in T20Is he scored 932 runs, at an average of 27.41, in 37 matches.
