Manoj Tiwary

Mostly a player keeps his place if he scores a century in an ODI but it wasn’t the case with Tiwary. Even after scoring a century against West Indies in 2011, he sat out of playing XI for more than seven months. When he finally got a chance, he was dropped after two matches. He had to wait for another two years to get another opportunity. Dhoni never backed Tiwary and he only played 12 ODIs and three T20Is.
The right-handed batsman even turned into a complete all-rounder in 2017/18 season but couldn’t force a comeback. Tiwary never got the backing he deserved but he isn’t ready to give up. He has often questioned his absence from the BCCI’s squads and despite selectors not showing any positive signs, he continues to play domestic cricket. On Tuesday, he scored his maiden triple-century in first-class cricket.
