Indian Sports Honours: The Glamorous Side of Our Favourite Sports Personalities

Team India Skipper Virat Kohli and his girlfriend and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma was the centre of attraction during the Indian Sports Honours in Mumbai on Saturday. Various well known Indian sports personalities were present during the event as Kohli, and Sanjiv Goenka handed over the awards to recognise their achievements as Indian sportspersons.

Tennis Ace Sania Mirza, Olympic Silver medal winner PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal were also present. Indian Women’s cricket team skipper Mithali Raj who led India to the final of the Women’s World Cup very recently was also present during the ceremony. All the sportsperson have sizzled in their respective sports field but what grabbed the eyeballs was their glamorous look.

Badminton Stars B Sai Praneeth, Sameer Verma and Kidambi Srikanth posted a picture on their Instagram handle along with PV Sindhu. The caption of the post read, “About last night at #indiansportshonours awards.”

Sania Mirza looked gorgeous in her new avatar. Taking to Instagram she posted a picture with a caption, “It was a metallic kind of night ? Meanwhile former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan and his fiancé Sagarika Ghatge was also present during the award ceremony. It was Sagarika who shared their picture with a caption,

“All set for the evening to recognize, reward and celebrate excellence in the field of sports in India.”

Virat Kohli lauded India for making rapid strides in the world of sports which has helped them erase the tag of a ‘One Sport Country’.

“India has made rapid strides as a sporting nation. The day of being a one-sport country are behind us. The time is right to introduce an institution that will recognise our top sporting achievers and put the spotlight on those, who are expected to do the country proud in years to come,” Kohli said.
