The Indian squad for next month’s Bangladesh tour is to be picked by cricket selection panel headed by Sandeep Patil on May 20, 2015. India are scheduled to play one-off Test match at Fatullah from 10-14 June, and then will take on Bangladesh in 3 match One day Internationals to played between 18-24 June.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has already announced retirement from Test cricket and it is expected that Virat Kohli, who led in Australia for two Test matches, is favourite to be named captain for his first full series (ironically series is only one match). However, there are news reports that Kohli and other senior cricketers has asked the BCCI to be rested for the tour. The Indian team had busy schedule and it is important these senior cricketers get a rest so that they remain for fresh season.
BCCI technical committee headed by Anil Kumble is to meet in Mumbai to discuss the proposed changes in the domestic circuit next season. The Indian team needs to select some young players who have performed in the IPL 8 and some experienced players. It will be interesting to see that the likes of Sandeep Sharma, Sheryas Iyer, Robin Uthappa, Kedar Jadhav will get a chance for this tour of Bangaldesh.
