After interviewing 6 to 7 candidates at length, the BCCI advisory committee said that the Indian team next coach will be decided by Wednesday. The BCCI advisory committee will forward names to BCCI secretary.
Praveen Amre, Ravi Shastri, Stuart Law, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput, Ande Moles were the candidates interviewed for the post of coach for team India.
India has been searching for the post of coach since theWorld T20, as Ravi Shastri’s contract as director was not extended. The BCCI advertised for the post of coach job on 1st June. A total of 57 applicants applied for the job. From 57 candidates, the BCCI shortlisted 21 people.
” It was a good learning experience for me as the panel wanted to know the ways that I would help to make the Indian team number 1 in all formats,”. Amre said. “We went in detail on each objective that was there in a job application.
Sandeep Patil was not interviewed for the post of coach job on Tuesday. The BCCI panel conducted presentations for 7 and half hours. They will also send recommendations to Virat Kohli for his views.
“The process is now over, there will be no more interviews after this. The committee will now meet President and Ajay Shirke this week to discuss the matter. It should be announced this week itself. Around 10 candidates gave their interviews today, we have made our choice and the name will be forwarded to the Secretary tonight itself.”
The Indian team will finally get a coach on Wednesday and we hope that he brings success to the team at home and also away from home.
Ravi Shastri became the director of the Indian team in 2014 and remained the coach till 2016 World T20. If Ravi Shastri becomes the coach, he wants the same staff that he used to have during his coaching stint.
Anil Kumble also made a presentation in front of the panel. It was a lengthy process in Kolkatta yesterday and India would get their new coach by today.
