Not only this, now Indian team has been fined by match referee Ranjan Madugalle due to a slow overrate on the 3rd day of the 5th Test at Oval, which eventually turned out to be the last day of the series.
Ranjan Madugalle,a member of the Emirates Elite Umpire Panel of ICC Match Referees fined Indian team after he found the Indian team 3 overs short of the target , after giving compensations for all the breaks and other allowances.
The ICC rules states that each member of the team will be fined 10 percent of the match fees for every over a team is found short at the end of the play and the captain will be fined 20 percent. A s a result of it, Indian team has been fined 30 percent of the match fees as Indian team were 3 overs short and dhoni has been fined 60 percent of the match fees.
The worst part is that Dhoni may face a ban of 1 match if he is found guilty of repeating the same thing in the coming 12 months.
India faced one of the worst defeats of their history after they lost by an innings and 244 runs to England . Lots os questions have been raised over the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni . His defensive mind set in Tests have hurt India and several decisions of him are beyond understanding but that has been the way Dhoni has been over the years.
Dhoni, though does not have the technique to excel in English conditions but has shown lot of self control and courage to play useful innings. He has been vulnerable outside the off stump but did come up with a way to tackle it.
