The Indian team management has denied the reports of vice-captain Virat Kohli used some abusive language towards a journalist in Perth yesterday. India were training at the Murdoch University in Perth when Kohli had a go at a senior journalists from an Indian national daily. It is said that Kohli mistook him for another journalist, whose daily had carried a story about Kohli’s relationship with Anushka Sharma.
The Journalist at the receiving end Mr. Jasvinder Sidhu of Hindustan Times has given his account of the incident in his report in the daily. He has said that clearly heard some abuses being directed at him. Some of the journalists standing nearby also said that abusive language was hurled at Mr. Sidhu. The team management also claimed that Kohli contacted the journalist but in Sidhu’s report, it was clearly mentioned that the Indian batsman spoke to another scribe and not to him directly.
In an email to the Indian media contingent in Perth, the media manager Dr RN Baba said, There was a misunderstanding and no abusive language was used, Virat has spoken to the concerned gentlemen immediately and matter ends.
