No offense to MS Dhoni but Sourav Ganguly happens to be the best captain India has had, at least in Test cricket. Indian cricket was in great danger in 2000 during the players’ involvement in the match fixing debacle. The country was anxiously looking for a leader. And it was Sourav Ganguly who stood up. He inoculated aggression, youth and a vision to Indian cricket and following that the team got back on the map in no time. He was no mug with the bat either; his assertiveness against the spinners especially was really useful in the middle order.
