INDIA’S BEST ODI XI OF 1990s 1
  1. RAHUL DRAVID

Rahul Dravid was technically the most accomplished player in the Indian side of that era. Dravid was the ideal Number 3 to have in a team who could construct or hold the innings together. Dravid more often than not stood rock solid like a wall in the middle even after the team suffered an early collapse

A master at milking the gaps, Dravid played the sheet anchor’s role to perfection. It was his strong defence, remarkable consistency and his ability to acclimatize to hostile bowling conditions which stood out as a feature of his batting. A selfless servant to Indian cricket, he batted at different positions for the team as the situation demanded. An extremely fit cricketer, Dravid was an excellent fielder at the slips and the close-infield.
