India's Five Most Memorable Test Series Wins Post-Independence 2

India, under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid, secured its first series win in England since 1986. Just like the historic series of 1971, India escaped with the draw in the series-opener at Lord’s with a large slice of luck, as bad weather thwarted England’s hopes of taking the lead. India was 282 for nine while chasing 380 with more than a session left before bad light and persistent rain ended the game.

In the second game, however, England paid a hefty price of provoking Zaheer Khan by placing some jelly beans at the crease when he came out to bat, as the left-arm pacer took nine wickets in the match to help India thrash the hosts by seven wickets.

The last Test ended in a draw after India scored a mammoth 664 with Anil Kumble memorably making his maiden Test ton in his 118th Test.
