After producing an enthralling performance against the Englishmen in the Tests series, team India, under new captain Virat Kohli, will look to repeat heroics when both sides lock horns in the first ODI match at Pune on January 15.
With the coming of new year, came many ups and downs in the Indian cricket. The BCCI president Anurag Thakur and honorary secretary Ajay Shirke were sacked from their post by the apex court on January 2, while former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped down from the limited-overs captaincy two days later.
Following the latter’s decision, Virat Kohli was handed the captaincy to lead India across all formats, given his wonderful run, both as a captain and batsman in Test cricket.
