The Indian team for England tour has been announced and almost everyone feel that finally selectors gave some look to the performance of players. Pankaj Singh inclusion was perfect example who was the 5th highest wicket taker in this Ranji Season with 39 wickets and has taken 196 wickets in last five seasons.
But Another Surprise was of Stuart Binny. There were many better performers than him by some batsman like Ambati Rayudu, who was in test team during South Africa and New Zealand tour but wasn’t given a chance but was dropped from the squad. Also some other young performers like Kedar Jadhav, KL Rahul, Manish Pandey and Sanju Samson who done a far better job with bat compared to Binny.
However, Stuart Binny was considered in the squad due to his All-Round ability. Even then his selection couldn’t be justified if we see some other players’ stats who have made an impact in International level already and in Indian Premier League.
Here is the comparison of Ranji Trophy previous season stats:

Rajat Bhatia a genuine medium pacer just like Binny could have been a really good option if we see his experience. Vinay Kumar, Yusuf Pathan have already played for national squad but Rishi, Rasool, Akshar having a brilliant record since last couple of years deserve the spot. Especially Rishi Dhawan, a medium pacer who was the highest wicket taker in this Ranji season could have made into the squad if Binny was to be considered.
To say, Binny has a good record last couple of years but looking at his recent form, his call up was shocker. With Roger Binny, Ex-Indian Cricketer and Father of Stuart Binny is among the selection panel, you can’t see his son missing out of the team.
