The list of Indian cricketer getting injured ahead of the IPL 10 is growing bigger and bigger as off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been ruled out of the upcoming league due to injury. The 30-year-old, who plays for the Rising Pune Supergiant, has sports hernia which may require six to eight weeks of time to fully recover.
Murali Vijay, who represents Kings XI Punjab, may also join the growing list because of a wrist and shoulder injury. The right-hander may also likely undergo a surgery to recover quickly. The good news, however, is that both the cricketers will bet fully fit before the Champions trophy that is set to begin from June
Earlier, today KL Rahul, RCB’s star opener was also announced to unfit to play this season as result of a shoulder injury which requires him to fly to London for surgery. AB de Villiers, the South African Maverick, is also slated to miss a couple of matches at the start of the tournament while RCB skipper Virat Kohli’s fitness also has dark clouds looming over it.
The Indian cricketers are fresh from a long him season which saw them play 13 Tests spread against New Zealand, England, Bangladesh and Australia. While India secured series wins against each nation, the aftereffects of the workload are now clearly visible as the players shown inability to stay fit for the IPL.
