Captain Charles Burgess fry was known as a cricket and footballer who was died at his home in Hampstead, London, on September 7, 1956, aged 84. He played 26 Tests matches for England Captain. He was one of the finest all-rounders of his generation. He was a brilliant scholar and an accomplished performer in almost every outdoor sport. He used to love the games and never played for the professional gain. He captained England in Test matches, and his mother country never lost under his captaincy.
Besides cricket, he played Association Football for England against Ireland in 1901, he was the full-back for Southampton in the FA Cup Final of 1902. The long jump was another specialty for this remarkable all-round sportsman. He broke the British record in 1892. But it was cricket that expressed his personality in the fullest form.
