Former Pakistan captain Inzamam Ul Haq was appointed the chief selector of the Pakistan men’s team on August 7, 2023. This is the second time Inzamam will hold this post as he was previously the chief selector of the Pakistan men’s team from 2016-2019.
He was recently named in the PCB’s Cricket Technical Committee, consisting of members like Misbah Ul Haq, and Mohammad Hafeez, which was formed by the PCB chief Zaka Ashraf to deliberate over the composition of the new selection committee.
Inzamam is one of the best batters produced by Pakistan and was a member of the 1992 World Cup-winning side under Imran Khan. He was active from 1989-2007 and made 11,739 ODI runs – the most for any batter from Pakistan – in 378 matches at an average of 39.52 and struck 10 centuries and 83 half-centuries. He scored 8,830 Test runs in 120 matches at an average of 49.60 and scored 25 centuries and 46 half-centuries.

He also played one T20I for Pakistan, against England at Bristol in August 2006, leading Pakistan to a five-wicket win in their maiden appearance in the format.
Inzamam Ul Haq Led Technical Committee To Decide On Mickey Arthur And Gray Bradburn’s Place In New Selection Panel
The fate of director Mickey Arthur and head coach Grant Bradburn, who are currently part of the selection panel, will also be decided by the new Inzamam Ul Haq-led technical committee which also includes Misbah Ul Haq and Mohammad Hafeez.

Arthur is yet to physically join the team as he has been busy with his coaching assignment with Derbyshire but he is scheduled to take charge of the team in the latter part of the Asia Cup and will be available for the World Cup in India and tour to Australia later in the year.
This will also mean the reunion of Inzamam and Arthur as the duo previously worked together when Arthur was Pakistan’s head coach during his previous tenure that included the 2017 Champions Trophy triumph and the 2019 World Cup.
