One cannot simply forget what Brendon McCullam did in the inaugural IPL match in 2008. His knock of 158 against Royal Challengers Bangalore set the IPL stage on fire. Currently he is one among the most dangerous batsman in T20 format. Kolkata Knight Riders opted not to retain him for the IPL 7 which eventually brings his name in the auction pool. When he gets going, it will be very difficult for the opposition to stop him.
In the auction, it will be interesting to see how KKR plays the McCullam bid. They also have a choice of using the Joker Card to bring back McCullam. He exhibited his impressive captaincy skills in the recent series against India. This might prompt the teams like Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals to go all out from him at the auctions. He is a dashing opening batsman, great leader and a decent wicket Keeper, simply a complete package.
