Lasith Malinga– The best seam bowler in t20s is also one of the best death Bowlers in this format. His slower Yorkers are so lethal that batsman gets disguised most of the time. Captains keep two overs just for him in the death overs to ensure least number of runs is scored in the final overs. Malinga generally bowls perfect Yorkers and gets most of his wickets as bowled. He is also the highest wicket taker in IPL history.
Sunil Narine – His ability to give minimum runs in normal overs turned him as a death over. And since he is unreadable with his mystery spins, he is captain’s most favourite bowler in death overs. Not only he gives runs miserly, he picks up wickets in clusters. He had been the purple Cap holder and half of his wickets came from the death overs. Be it the IPL or for West Indies, his captain secures atleast two overs and many a times he has to bowl the last over when other bowlers goes for runs. He hardly gives more than 6-7 runs in death overs and his overall economy rate is less than 6.
Dale Steyn– He is currently the best bowler in the world.Although he haven’t touched much feats in t20 cricket but when he plays, the captain do gives him the last overs. Except one or two times, where he was hammered by Ab de Villiers and MS Dhoni, he haven’t leaked runs in death overs. Overall he is threatening when he bowls the death overs.
Vinay Kumar– This man has a bad record of giving runs but in death overs he gets a special power and bowls cleverly. He mixes his slower ones with the normal bowls and this makes him effective. He won some matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore and recently defended 9 runs for KKR in the last over. He also have a slower bouncer as a weapon.Most of his wickets came in the death overs.
Umesh Yadav– Perfect Yorkers, fast pacy bouncers makes him effective in death overs. Although he has a habit of going for runs due to his extra speed and poor control of ball. But on his day he can rip apart any batsmen and his fast Yorkers . His success in IPL also gained him a apot in the national squad. He had done good for Delhi Daredevils but Gambhir prefers him to bowl the middle overs as KKR have enough death over bowlers as Narine and Morkel.
