Kolkata Knightriders mentor and Former Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram believes that that the ongoing season of the IPL is the best in the 8 years history of the tournament so far. The reason why he feels so is that with just few matches left before the KnockOut stage, no team is yet sure of a berth in the Playoffs.
Wasim Akram was talking to the media before his KKR’s match against Mumbai Indians . Akram added that they know that a win here will take KKR to the top of the table , but did seemed cautious and spoke of Mumbai Indian’s abilities , especially in Mumbai. He added that Mumbai Indians are playing good cricket , and added that the fact that they have won 5 out of their last 6 matches shows this.
Akram also praised KKR’s skipper Gautam Gambhir and praised his aggressive captaincy and added that he is leading from the front. The fact that he goes for wickets and not for dot balls makes him so. He also said that Gambhir is one of the best captains in the IPL. He also added that KKR is not dependent on a single batsman and they have many match winners. Everyone know their role and this is the strength of the team.
KKR is placed 2nd on the table, just behind CSK and they will reach the top of the table if they manage to defeat Mumbai Indians today.
