Kolkata Knight Riders
Remaining fixtures:
May 16 vs Rajasthan Royals in Mumbai (BS).
The defending Champions lost their penultimate game against Mumbai Indians and are now in a must-win situation against Rajasthan Royals. A victory will seal them a spot in play offs, and a defeat will dash their hopes of qualifying unless RCB loses their both matches.
Chennai Super Kings
Remaining fixtures:
May 16 vs Kings XI Punjab in Mohali
IPL’s most successful team Chennai Super Kings lost their second last game against Delhi Daredevils. Now they need to win Kings XI Punjab to guarantee their play-offs spot. If they lose, they are most likely to finish fourth.
Rajasthan Royals
Remaining fixtures:
May 16 vs Kolkata Knight Riders in Mumbai (BS)
All RR need is a win against KKR. If they win, they qualify and if they lose, they are knocked out.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Remaining fixtures:
May 15 vs Royal Challengers Bangalore in Hyderabad
May 17 vs Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad.
Sunrisers are lucky enough to play all their remaining two matches at home from which they must win one out of them. They face Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, their fellow competitors in those games and win for the Surisers in either of these games will put them ahead in the pole position for the play-offs.
Mumbai Indians
Remaining fixtures:
May 17 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad.
Just like RR, they are in a do-die situation. If they win, they qualify and if they lose, they are knocked out of the tournament.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Remaining fixtures:
May 15 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad
May 17 vs Delhi Daredevils in Bangalore.
The Bangalore outfit needs to win both the matches to secure their play-offs berth. If they lose any one of them, then it will all come down to the net run-rate issue between them and KKR, if the latter loses to RR and SRH defeats MI.
Scenarios updated at the end of MI vs KKR clash.
