As compared to his previous season, this was a great one for Suresh Raina, who enjoyed leading the Gujarat Lions. Raina had a memorable campaign with 399 runs to his list and for a captain leading a side for the first time in a season, the southpaw was very good. His batting could have been more impactful had he converted his starts. But as a leader, Raina was really effective, and his way of using Praveen Kumar and Dhawal Kulkarni deserves a mention.
