Delhi Daredevils vs Sunrisers Hyderabad – Match in numbers

Final 3 days of the league matches and not even a single team is assured of their spot in the league table. While Sunrisers Hyderabad needs just one win in their two matches to qualify for a spot in Top 2, Delhi Daredevils need to win both their matches to have a hope of qualification. While David Warner and Co have done really well this season, Zaheer Khan led young Daredevils also deserve a chance to make it to the playoffs after having poor seasons in the past 2-3 years.

Zaheer Khan won the toss and invited the Sunrisers to bat first. Warner started off aggressively and top-scored for the team with 76 runs in 56 deliveries. Players like Henriques, Morgan and Ojha got off to a start but none of them could go beyond 20 runs. As a result, wickets fell at regular intervals and the team scored 158 for 7 in 20 overs.

Coming in to chase in a must win game, Daredevils faced an early blow as de Kock departed for just 2 runs. Karun Nair played well and anchored the Daredevils innings from one end. He top scored for the team by scoring 79 off 58 deliveries. His real test came in the last over where the team required 11 off 6 balls and Nair hit the all-important boundary to ensure a win.
