MI v DD
MI v DD

Mumbai Indians are on 5th while Delhi Daredevils are on 4th in the league table with 12 points each. But the factor that differentiates both these teams is that this would be MI’s 13th match while DD will be playing their 11th. This makes it all the more important for the MI team to win the match to stay in the race for playoffs.

Zaheer Khan won the toss and chose to field. Rohit Sharma had failed so far in this season of IPL while batting first. But today he couldn’t afford to lose his wicket early. Rohit batted sensibly along with Guptill to give MI a strong start. Krunal Pandya came in at No. 3 to up the scoring rate and successfully did so by playing a blistering inning of 86 runs in 37 balls, sadly he missed out on a well deserved 100. Guptill also scored 48 runs and as a result, MI reached 206 runs in 20 overs.

Coming in to chase, Mayank Aggarwal got out early but de Kock continued strong. DD had to rely on de Kock as he was the one who anchored the chase against RCB while chasing a huge total. Wickets falling from other end proved to be a problem for DD to ensure an attacking start. De Kock was the victim of yet another bad decision and DD were in deeper trouble. In the end, Mumbai Indians won the match by a good margin as DD were never in contention.

Here’s a list of interesting numbers and stats from this match –
