It was a special effort from the youngster as Delhi was chasing a steep target of 209 and after the fall of the first wicket at a low score of 24, the onus was on Rishabh Pant to get the team past the winning total.
The youngster, who got a promotion in the batting line-up a game before this, continued his great form and this time played an incredible innings of 97 off just 43 balls to put his team on a brink of a win along with Sanju Samson. Though he missed out a century as he was caught by wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik off Basil Thampi.
The younger was disappointed to miss the three-figure mark but his efforts drew praise for him from the cricket fraternity as almost each and every cricketer showered praises on the youngster.
However, Rahul Dravid, the Head Coach of Delhi asked Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson to finish off the game from next time as staying till last and giving the finishing touch is the best thing a player and coach can ask for.
