The 10th edition of Indian Premier League Auction has been rescheduled for February 20th in which 750 players will go under the hammer in Bengaluru. Interestingly, in 2008, the IPL auction was also held on February 20.
Banking on their performers, the IPL franchises have retained 140 cricketers which include 44 overseas recruits. It would be a fascinating season for cricket lovers to witness their favourite players delivering with the bat and a ball.
The defending Indian Premier League Champions Sunrisers Hyderabad has retained 17 players including five overseas cricketers for 2017 season.
However, they’ve released overseas imports in the form of England batsman Eoin Morgan and Kiwis fast bowler Trent Boult
The released local players include Karn Sharma, Ashish Reddy, T Suman and Aditya Tare.
Hyderabad has an excellent top-order line-up in the form of Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, Yuvraj Singh and Kane Williamson.
For 2017, Hyderabad side has retained one of the best fast bowling departments which include Ashish Nehra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ben Cutting and wily customer Mustafizur Rahman.
The Men in Orange – SRH – would be banking on the fast bowling, but before the start of the season, skipper David Warner alongside Coach Tom Moody and VVS Laxman would be aiming to have best players in the list.
They are supposed to bid on the batting all-rounder and a top quality spinner to end their quest for a much-required spinner in the line-up.
The competitive Hyderabad side has played their first IPL season in 2013. It would be interesting to see who Hyderabad would like to pick in the marquee event at the Ritz-Carlton, Bengaluru where spinners like Imran Tahir, Brad Hogg would also be the focus of attention for many franchise owners to seal a lucrative contract.
Hyderabad would also be considering their purse which has the amount of 20.9 crores before picking two crucial players in the squad.
