IPL 2017: Dinesh Karthik Becomes First Wicketkeeper To Claim 100 Dismissals In IPL 1

Gujarat Lions wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik has become the first gloveman to claim 100 dismissals in the Indian Premier League. The Tamil Nadu ace achieved the feat during the match against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday (April 23), when he pouched a brilliant take to remove opening batsman Manan Vohra off the bowling of Nathu Singh.

The 31-year old, who has also represented Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, reached the 100-dismissal mark in his 145th match and 129th innings. The catch to send back Manan Vohra was his 74th grab in the league. He also has 26 stumping to his name.

The wicketkeeper-batsman, meanwhile, did not make the match memorable for his team despite scoring a fighting knock of 58 runs, as Kings XI Punjab won the match by 26 runs.

The second wicketkeeper in the list of most dismissals is Rising Pune Supergiant star Mahendra Singh Dhoni with 94 dismissals to his name. The former India skipper has taken 65 catches and has affected 29 stumping in 149 outings.
