Though Sunrisers Hyderabad won their previous game against Mumbai Indians but they suffered a blow as Yuvraj Singh, their main player got injured during the game.
Yuvraj injured his hand while fielding in the first innings of the game. He jammed his hand into the ground, which resulted in him being hurt.
However, the player was given treatment on the field and he also came out to bat as well. But the struggle was palpable as he was not able to connect the ball properly due to the pain in his hand. The left-handed batsman was also frustrated with the pain and later got out on a score of nine.
The southpaw has to keep himself way from injuries as he is the member of the Indian squad for the Champions Trophy and any more issues can jeopardise his participation in the tournament.
VVS Laxman, the Mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad, revealed about Yuvi’s injury and the former Indian batsman was positive that Yuvraj will recover well in time to participate in the next game,
“He should be okay. Just that the hand got jammed into the ground while he was fielding. So there is some contusion, but luckily we are next playing a match after four days, so there is enough time for him to recover. But credit to him to go out there in spite of the pain, taking the responsibility that I will go out and bat and try to win the match.”
Sunrise Hyderabad is currently sitting in the fourth position in the points table and they have to win their last league stage game in order to strengthen their chances of qualifying to the next round. In case they lose the game, then the defending champions have to wait for the results of the other teams in order to keep the dream of defending the cup on.
