5. Virat Kohli (27 Fifties in IPL)

The captain, the warrior and the batting mainstay of RCB, Virat Kohli is number fifth in the list with 27 half centuries to his name in past nine seasons of IPL. The Indian skipper was in his prime last season where he amassed a mountain total of 973 runs in 16 matches at an average of 81.08. What was more impressive was his strike-rate (152.03) and the number of centuries he scored to reach such a huge individual total (4), the most by any batsman in a single edition of IPL. Also, he scored seven fifties in the same season.
Virat, 28, has played for just one team throughout his IPL career, Royal Challengers Bangalore and the batsman has seen highs and lows, from being a young energetic kid to a mature man. However, he could never hold that trophy in his hand. Though, he came close in 2016 but went down fighting hard to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the finals.
His form has never been the worry for his side, he has been among the run-scorers almost every time. He with his MRF willow have been doing some wonders for now, and given the patch he has been in lately, the increase in the tally of runs and fifties are not going anywhere.
