Regarded as the best T20 batsman in the country, Gujarat Lions (GL) captain Suresh Raina is second in the list with 29 fifties to his name in IPL history. Arguably, the most stylish left-handed batsman in the circuit, Raina has earned a name for himself with the bulk of runs he had scored in every passing season.
For Chennai Super Kings, he was the backbone, smashing big totals often, and while chasing, he was equally good if not better. His innings of 87 off 25 balls against KXIP in 2014 is a prime example of that.
Even for Gujarat Lions, he played a mentor’s role, and didn’t go after the bowlers but was subtle in his approach. He didn’t score many runs, as his total tally could read just 399 in 15 games with three half centuries attached to it. His strike rate of 127.88 wasn’t pleasing either.
