A competitor by heart, Gambhir has shown what class and determination, when clubbed together can do. Over the years in the cash-rich league, he was termed as the senior batsman when he represented Delhi, but when the switching came from Delhi to Kolkata, changed gears and also the responsibility.
He never goes out of runs, not even through his lean patch. Even during last year, he was one of the three batsmen to have scored more than 500 runs (501). With the highest score of unbeaten 90, Gambhir averaged 38.51 with five half centuries. With the advancing age, his Midas touch might fade but his intent to contribute for the team will never die.
