IPL 2017: King MS Dhoni Gearing Up To Unleash His Bat In Remaining Games

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has not quite managed to live up to the expectations in the ongoing tenth edition of the Indian Premier League. After being sacked as the skipper of Rising Pune Supergiant, the former India skipper has looked a pale shadow of the player who is considered as arguably the finest finisher the game has ever witnessed.

Barring the 61-run knock to guide his team to a brilliant thrilling win against Sunrisers Hyderabad, there have been no such notable contributions. In 12 matches so far, the 35-year old has managed to score just 235 runs at an average of a shade over 26 and an unusual strike-rate of just 114.07. But the World Cup-winning skipper, it seems, is looking to get back into his groove just when his team needs him the most.

With 8 wins from 12 games, the Supergiant is just a win away from sealing their playoff spot and would get a chance to do it when they take on Delhi Daredevils on Friday (may 12). And Dhoni is gearing up to unleash his bat just at the right moment, at least Usman Khawaja’s latest Instagram post suggests so.

Sharing a picture of Dhoni getting his bat ready for the crunch clash against the Daredevils, Khawaja posted:“Bat maintenance by the king. “
