IPL 2017: Kings XI Punjab Opt For All Indian Support Staff

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab has opted for an all Indian supporting staff ahead of the upcoming season of the cash-rich league, which starts from April 5.
In a press release from the franchise, they announced the inclusion of Mithun Manas as the assistant coach and J Arun Kumar as the batting coach. The list also includes Amit Tyagi, who will be the new Physiotherapist, whereas, Manoj Kumar has joined the team as a Yoga Instructor.
Indian team’s fielding coach R Sridhar will continue to pocket his preferred department as Nishant Thakur will take care of the strength and conditioning section. Team’s masseur Naresh Kumar will work in tandem with Virender Sehwag.
“I am delighted to welcome Mithun, J Arun, Amit and Manoj on-board. I truly believe they will add value and strength to the squad. We are looking forward to working with each other and having a great tournament ahead,” Sehwag said.
As the designated brand ambassador of the side, Sehwag said he would like to welcome new coaches at his side’s helm and he is confident with the all Indian staff, players would feel a lot better to express their concerns and thus will initiate a better brand of cricket.
“We would like to welcome the team’s new coaches to the Kings XI Punjab family and are confident that our new support staff will help the boys play a better brand of cricket altogether. All of them are seasoned professionals and will enable the team to do their best this season.”
In their opening game of the season, Punjab will face Pune on April 8 in Indore.
