IPL 2017: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore- Predicted Lineup Of Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders are one of the most consistent teams in Indian Premier League over the past few years and have continued their rich vein of form in the ongoing edition as they remain at the top after losing only two games in the first six games so far.

However, the hosts will look to come out on top when they meet their title rivals Royal Challengers Bangalore who are not currently in the best of their form as they languish at the bottom of the table. Virat Kohli will look to make a strong statement by winning at Eden Gardens but it will not be an easy task as KKR are in sensational form this season despite losing to Gujarat Lions on Friday.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore will go into the game with ample break and on the back of a win against Gujarat Lions at Rajkot. Kolkata Knight Riders are one of the most balanced sides this IPL and skipper Gautam Gambhir will more or likely play with the best possible XI against RCB on Sunday.

Previous Encounters:

RCB and KKR matches have been nothing short of entertainment over the past nine editions as the two teams were the first to kick start the cash-rich league in 2008. From Brendon McCullum’s hard hitting to controversial fights between players, the battle was never short of expectations.

Incidentally, both teams have an identical record as they possess win-loss record at 9-9 after 18 games in 9 editions and Sunday is looking to be yet another cracker of a game.

Recent Form:

KKR: W L W W W L

RCB: L W L L L W

Talking Points:

Kolkata Knight Riders look one of the most settled sides and Gambhir is very good at shuffling his batting lineup as he managed to get the best out of Sunil Narine who is playing as opener in the recent games. The Caribbean mystery bowler has managed to score an impressive 42 runs in just 17 balls and could be lethal again against RCB on Sunday.

Predicted XI

Kolkata Knight Riders are expected to go into the match with the same XI as the one that played against Gujarat Lions on Saturday. Despite the loss, Gambhir will be keen to provide an extended run to Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan who played a limited role on Friday coming in place of de Grandhomme against Lions.

Gautam Gambhir (c), Robin Uthappa (wk), Manish Pandey, Shakib Al Hasan, Yusuf Pathan, Suryakumar Yadav, Chris Woakes, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Sunil Narine, Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav
