While defining his role as an opener for India, Virender Sehwag is Kings XI Punjab’s Head of Cricket Operations.

Virender Sehwag, who played a significant role in the recent past had been IPL franchises’ batting mainstay to pile up the numbers.

Sehwag joined Punjab in the seventh edition of IPL after playing for Delhi Daredevils in up to the sixth edition. He was the captain of Daredevils for the first two editions before being nominated Delhi’s captain again in the fifth edition.

He has captained the side for 53 matches and won 28 while losing eventually on 25 as the winning percentage remained 52.84.

The right-handed batting prodigy is now Punjab’s Head of Operations as he is having the strike-rate of 155.44 while facing 1,755 balls to amass 2,728 runs in 104 IPL matches.

The Delhi-born Sehwag has smashed two centuries and 20 fifties. His score included 334 boundaries and 106 sixes.
