IPL 2017: List Of Orange Cap Recipients In The History of IPL 1

T20 cricket means runs galore. This fact applies to the Indian Premier League as well. Over the years, we have seen many batsmen stamp their authority on the bowlers. The ‘Orange Cap’ is the ultimate prize for the consistency these batsmen show throughout the season.

Speaking of the past nine seasons, the Orange cap winners have mostly been overseas players as only three Indians – Sachin Tendulkar, Robin Uthappa and Virat Kohli – happen to be the only Indians to ever win the Orange cap. While West Indies giant Chris Gayle is the only batsmen to win it twice.

However, Orange cap winners are not necessarily lucky and lead their team to title wins. Ironically, it has been only on one occasion that an orange cap winner was a part of the champion side. Only in the 2014 season did Robin Uthappa win the Orange Cap and KKR win the cup.
