IPL 2017: Match 30 – Rising Pune Supergiant Vs Kolkata Knight Riders – RPS Predcited XI
Dec 23, 2018 at 11:12 AM
There has been a major turnaround in the form of Rising Pune Supergiant, as the team who lost its three games after winning the first one, have bounced back and this time has won three back to back games.
In all the three previous encounters, the team have given the signal of being in the form as most of the players have stood up at the time when it was needed the most.
The win against Mumbai Indians was most impressive that came the other night, where they did not just ended Mumbai’s winning streak but also defeated them at their fortress i.e. Wankhede Stadium.
Though there were few glitches even in the win but still, the team stood up and now immediately seems to be one of the best teams in the league. They still have a long way to go and have to work upon few of the issues, the biggest being MS Dhoni’s batting and Manoj Tiwary’s batting position.
Previous Encounter –
This is the first encounter between the two teams in this year’s IPL. However, they both met each other twice last year and it was Kolkata that defeated the MS Dhoni-led side then.
Talking Points –
In the previous game, the way Rising Pune Supergiant won, was the biggest talking point, as they were superb in the last two overs from Ben Stokes and Jaydev Unadkat respectively. They needed to defend 24 runs in the last two overs – which they successfully did to help the team seal the third consecutive win.
Again, the onus will be on their bowlers but the batsmen have to be wary of Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers, as the pace attack just bamboozled the star-studded RCB batting line up and packed them on a mere score of 49.
Again, the bowlers will look to emulate their performance but hey they will have the biggest challenge to do the same at the away ground.
Predicted XI –
The Rising Pune Supergiant might not tinker with the winning combination and the same set of 11 players are expected to take the field.
Squad: Ajinkya Rahane, Rahul Tripathi, Steven Smith(c), MS Dhoni(w), Ben Stokes, Manoj Tiwary, Daniel Christian, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir, Jaydev Unadkat.
