IPL 2017 Match 52 : Delhi Daredevils vs Rising Pune Supergiant – Match Prediction

IPL in its tenth edition has brought along with it a lot of thrillers, thrilling ends, enticing matches. As it has reached last week of league matches before shooting off to the playoffs, still the question of teams going it to playoffs remains unanswered. Whereas teams like Mumbai Indians who have already qualified, Kolkata are still fighting it out for the playoffs or rather being in the top two.

For Pune, it is going to be a do or die match to fetch the points and jump up the table but for Delhi, it’s going to be just another game of pride! Both the teams have been in good momentum, giving good performances lately. But for Delhi it has been much late to rise in the tournament.

Batting under lights, Iyer’s 96 allowed the Daredevils to pull off a two-wicket win last night in a 196-run chase. Following Sunrisers Hyderabad’s win over Mumbai Indians in Uppal, Delhi Daredevils are now mathematically out of the race for the play-offs.

Rising Pune Supergiant must win one of their games to seal qualification.

VIEW ON THINK TANK:

One of the prime reasons that the Daredevils are out of the race for the Playoffs is their constant failure at the top. And Wednesday against Lions was another example of it. They were reduced to 15/2 in no time with Pradeep Sangwan getting the first breakthrough. Thy had not been consistent enough.

Despite that blemish from Pant, the Daredevils did not learn their lesson. Marlon Samuels and Corey Anderson fell in a span of 10 balls and 12 runs – also run-outs which were courtesy two top-notch direct hits from Ravindra Jadeja. But Shreyas Iyer stood out. Delhi would look to increase strength in batting lineup as they have successfully chase down high scores.

Pune did start off their season well but did linger on the middle, lately, they have been consistent eough to come up with good batting and bowling balances. Jaydev Unadkat and Shardul Thakur had been phenomenal with their skills.

5/30 are Unadkat’s figures, which included a hat-trick in the final over of the SRH innings that fetched him a triple-wicket maiden.

HEAD TO HEAD:

Head to head DD and RPS played 2 matches only. DD won 1 match and RPS also won 1 match.

MATCH PREDICTION :

The game is scheduled at Feroz Shah Kotla at 8 pm – Delhi’s own fortress. So we can expect the team winning toss to dominate the game due to the main fact that dew will also come into play later in the evening. A good score of 185 to 190 must be chasable. Delhi has so far done well when it comes to chasing high scores but if Pune’s bowlers are good enough they can easily disturb the batsman with their skills. So, Rising Pune Supergiant remains the favorites.
