Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan have come up with a unique praise for Yusuf Pathan after the hard-hitting batsman played a decisive knock in his team’s win over Delhi Daredevils at Feroz Shah Kotla on Monday (April 17).
Chasing 168, the Knight Riders were in big trouble after Delhi Daredevils pacers made light work of their top order. Zaheer Khan dismissed the makeshift opener Colin de Grandhomme in the very first over before Pat Cummins accounted for the in-form Robin Uthappa in the second over.
The visitors suffered another huge setback when Zaheer scalped for their skipper Gautam Gambhir to leave them reeling at 21 for three.
Another wicket would have surely tilted the game in the hosts’ side but Yusuf Pathan along with Manish Pandey put the team in a commanding position with brilliant knocks.
The Baroda star scored 59 off just 39 balls and added 110 runs with Manish Pandey before Chris Morris cut short his brilliant knock. Pathan’s knock was studded with six fours and a couple of maximums.
The innings, nevertheless, was enough to put Kolkata on the track for victory and Manish Pandey remained unbeaten till the end to ensure the visitors walk away with all the two points.
Meanwhile, a delighted owner took to Twitter to praise Yusuf Pathan for his matured knock.
