3. Jason Roy (Gujarat Lions)

Included last year only, franchise Gujarat Lions (GL) have had a great first season, finishing third in IPL-9. They had some big boys like Brendon McCullum, captain Suresh Raina and all-rounder Dwayne Bravo. But for the following season, they purchased an opener, many rate him the best, England’s Jason Roy.
Conventional in his outlook with a smooth back-lift, not having a wild-stride, composed and beautiful in his timing, the Sussex batsman could well turn the IPL on his head. Given he has got some challenge for the opening slot with Aaron Finch and Dwayne Smith, the 26-year-old is expected to eclipse them, at least on his current good form.
Known to provide blistering starts for any side, Roy will be crucial to Gujarat’s maiden win if they tend to persist with the batsman and give him time to get in.
