IPL 2017: Skipper Glenn Maxwell Happy With Sweet Home Coming For KXIP

After winning the first two games of the season, Kings XI Punjab side lost the track and went on to lose four back to back games. The strategy of Virender Sehwag to instil an aggressive captain was questioned and once again it looked like Kings XI Punjab might supersede their captain mid-way tournament but now it looks like King’s has learnt a lesson, as they first made changes in the side and then went for the hunt against Delhi Daredevils.

Bowlers went on to make merry at their home ground and thrashed Delhi Daredevils batsmen to make them stand still on a mere score of 67, their lowest in the history of IPL.

It was an ‘out of the box’ effort from their bowlers, which produced results for them and also not to forget the efforts of their fielders, who did not drop any chances that came their way.

With this win, Kings XI Punjab kept their hopes of making it to the second round alive, as they registered their fourth win in a total of nine games.

Skipper Glenn Maxwell was hopeful that team will be able to continue this form as he said –

Glenn Maxwell:

“That’s more like it. The last few games have been frustrating. Nice to put up a performance for the home crowd. The pitch played a lot slower than I thought it would. Expected it not to be different from the other night. It was nice to get through four overs as well.

Here is what Man of the Match Sandeep Sharma, who shone with the ball with figure of 4-0-20-4 said after the game-

Sandeep Sharma:

“I was feeling great. This is my home ground and I knew the conditions here. My coach inspired me a lot. I worked with Bharat Arun and he helped me a lot. I managed to hold onto it somehow (about that catch).”
