THREAT:
If one was to analyse a red warning sign for the two-time IPL champions, it would be the over-reliance towards their skipper Rohit Sharma. Sharma is a one man army and has single-handedly decimated bowling attacks in the past. That is why it seems, the Mumbai top order so heavily relies on him. In case he has an off day, the team could be in troubled waters as he remains their mainstay with the bat. That was evident in the previous IPL, as he was crucial in four-run chases, as he single-handedly helped Mumbai get past the target.
Sharma himself is under the scanner, as he hasn’t played much cricket since October 2016. Returning from an injury, it wouldn’t be all easy for Sharma to find form. Nevertheless, he shall continue to remain the pivot of the Mumbai Indians.
