IPL 2017: Tabraiz Shamsi Returns To South Africa 1

The Royal Challengers Bangalore’s chinaman spinner, Tabraiz Shamsi, has left for South Africa; leaving the Indian Premier League (IPL) mid-way. Shamsi is a part of RCB but hasn’t got any game till now as skipper Virat Kohli has preferred Samuel Badree over him.

Badree, who opens the bowling on most of the occasions for every team he plays, has also produced results, which somehow gave an indication to Shamsi that he might not get a place in the team for rest of the tournament and he decided to head back home,

“Really sad to be leaving India. People in India have been really awesome. Lots of love and support, and hopefully I can be back next year for the IPL. I really appreciate the passion people have here. Can’t thank the guys of Bengaluru enough. Going to miss this place a lot”, Shamsi said.

Shamsi leaving the tournament has come as a surprise as he is not the part of the South Africa squad for the Champions Trophy and the question still persist is why he has left IPL mid-way.?

Meanwhile, RCB is going through a rough patch as they have just been able to win only two out of nine games they have played till now. The Virat Kohli-led side is placed at the seventh position on the points table and is almost ruled out of the tournament. The finalists of last year’s tournament have failed to continue their form of the previous year. Both batting and bowling line up have failed to do wonders for the team, which has resulted in poor performance.

The main reason for poor form of the team was an injury to KL Rahul as he was the star for the team last year. Though Virat Kohli was the highest run-scorer but the Indian opener too played his part well. His presence could have made a big difference.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Rising Pune Supergiant in their next game on April 29 in Pune.
