Fit-again Zaheer Khan has returned to lead the Delhi Daredevils side and after winning the toss continued the trend to bowl first. There was only one change in the team, as Zaheer returned back in place spinner Shahbaz Nadeem.
On the other hand, there were two changes in the Mumbai Indians side, as Harbhajan Singh made his way back replacing Krunal Pandya. Lendl Simmons ended his exile of sitting on the bench and got his first game of the season as skipper dropped Jos Buttler from the team.
It’s an opportunity for Mumbai Indians to win the game and confirm their spot for the next round, whereas, Delhi will look to add two more points, so as to keep the hope of qualifying for the next round alive.
Here is what both the captains said at the time of the toss –
“Looking at the last few games, the wicket played really well. There are chances of dew coming as well. Having said that looks like typical dry wicket. Yes, we are sitting pretty at the table. But we have got to come here and work like we have done so far. It is important to not think far ahead. Jos Buttler misses out, Lendl Simmons come in and Harbhajan Singh comes in place of Krunal Pandya.”
“We are going to have a bowl first. It looks like a good wicket should get better later. Just one change, Nadeem goes out and I come in. Morris is not hundred percent so we are going with this combination.”
Here is the playing XI of both the sides –
Delhi Daredevils (Playing XI): Sanju Samson, Karun Nair, Rishabh Pant(w), Shreyas Iyer, Marlon Samuels, Corey Anderson, Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, Zaheer Khan(c), Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami.
