IPL 2017: Injured Yuvraj Misses As SRH Bowl; Praveen, Munaf Back For Gujarat
In the quest to ensure their confirmed booking in the top four, the visiting side Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and decided to bowl first in the heat of Kanpur. They suffered a big blow ahead of the start of the contest as Yuvraj Singh hasn’t recovered from the sore finger and the key player wasn’t included. Deepak Hooda, the all-rounder, made his way back in the team to replace his senior mate.
On the other side, Gujarat Lions once again went ahead with just three overseas players and did not give a chance to Chirag Suri. However, they made two changes in the squad as veterans Munaf Patel and Praveen Kumar were given a chance to play in Gujarat’s final game of the season. They replaced Dhawal Kulkarni and Basil Thampi respectively.
Hyderabad have to win this game in order to confirm a place in playoffs right here or else they have to depend upon the results of other teams so as to keep their title hopes alive. On the other hand, Gujrat would just like to add two more points as a win or loss will not affect their number seven ranking on the points table.
Here is what both the captains said at the time of the toss –
Today is the day we have to do it. As David mentioned, it is a big game for them. We have been playing good cricket. We are pumped up. Sometimes we have been unlucky. We have got two changes, PK (Praveen Kumar) and Munaf (Patel) are in. DK (Dhawal Kulkarni) and Basil (Thampi) are out
We are going to bowl first. It is a day game, it looks dry. We want bowlers to come out and reduce them to a competitive total for us to chase down. Unfortunately, Yuvi cannot play today. He has got a sore finger, so Deepak Hooda comes in.
Here is the playing XI of both the sides –
Sunrisers Hyderabad (Playing XI): David Warner(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Moises Henriques, Vijay Shankar, Deepak Hooda, Mohammad Nabi, Naman Ojha(w), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Siddarth Kaul, Mohammed Siraj.
Gujarat Lions (Playing XI): Dwayne Smith, Ishan Kishan, Suresh Raina(c), Dinesh Karthik(w), Aaron Finch, Ravindra Jadeja, James Faulkner, Pradeep Sangwan, Munaf Patel, Praveen Kumar, Ankit Soni.
