IPL 2017: Fit-Again Shreyas Iyer Included As Delhi Daredevils Bowl; Morgan, Cariappa Included For KXIP
Delhi Daredevils won the toss in their first home game and took a surprising decision to bat first. The dew factor will later come into play which will make things easy for Kings XI Punjab and the decision to bat first was something out of the box.
Fit-again Shreyas Iyer made his way into the team in place of his statemate Aditya Tare, who failed to perform in the previous games.
There were two changes in Kings XI Punjab camp, as England’s limited-overs skipper Eoin Morgan was included in the side along with mystery spinner KC Cariappa. Marcus Stoinis and Ishant Sharma were dropped to make a place for these two players.
Both the sides will look to carry on their winning form of the last game.
Here is what both the captains said at the toss –
“It is always a good rivalry. We have their (Delhi’s) favourite son (Virender Sehwag) as our coach. It is nice to have him on our side. We probably would have bowled. It looks a bit dry. Let’s see how it goes. We have a couple of changes, Stoinis misses out to Eoin Morgan and Ishant is replaced by KC Cariappa.”
“Looks like a bat first wicket. It is a bit on the drier side and that is why we wanted to bat first. Hopefully, it will assist the spinners later and we can take advantage of that. Pretty good crowd here and looking forward to their support. It is about taking forward the momentum from the last game. Just one change: Tare is out and Shreyas Iyer is in.”
Here is the playing XI of both the sides –
Kings XI Punjab (Playing XI): Hashim Amla, Manan Vohra, Eoin Morgan, Glenn Maxwell(c), David Miller, Wriddhiman Saha(w), Axar Patel, Mohit Sharma, Varun Aaron, Sandeep Sharma, KC Cariappa
Delhi Daredevils (Playing XI): Shreyas Iyer, Sam Billings, Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant(w), Corey Anderson, Chris Morris, Karun Nair, Pat Cummins, Amit Mishra, Shahbaz Nadeem, Zaheer Khan(capt).
