IPL 2017: Twitter Reacts As Another Opening Ceremony Fails To Impress Fans

The first home game of this season for the Kolkata Knight Riders against Kings XI Punjab kicked off with the customary opening ceremony. The penultimate opening ceremony of this year’s Indian Premier League at the Eden Gardens got underway with  songs sung by the band ‘Shillong Chamber Choir’.

The band churned out different Bollywood songs as well as Rabindra Sangeet before the centre-stage was taken by playback singer Monali Thakur.

Monali’s performance was followed by an audio visual which took the fans down memory lane showing a glimpse of the past nine seasons of the Indian Premier League.

After that, captain of both the teams Gautam Gambhir and Glenn Maxwell took a lap of honour before the home captain handed over a token of appreciation to his Kings XI counterpart. Another audio visual showed the fans how the decade has been for their team in which they have won the title in 2012 and 2014 under Gambhir. The ceremony concluded with Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor dancing to her songs.

Here is how Twitter reacted to the opening ceremony:
