With his team languishing at the bottom of the table after managing a just couple of wins in the first seven matches of the Indian Premier League, a wash-out is probably the last thing that Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli would want.
And that has what exactly happened, as their game against Sunrisers Hyderabad has been called off in Bengaluru.
The Bangalore-based outfit was in a similar position last year when they won six of their last seven games to make it to the playoffs before losing the title-decider against the Sunrisers.
They desperately need to replicate that form in the ongoing season too and winning the game against the defending champions would have done a world of good for them especially after the mauling they received in their last game against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, where they were bowled out for 49 – the lowest total in IPL history.
Meanwhile, the fans, who definitely missed a great game of cricket, took to Twitter to express their feelings.
